| Description of the problem | While driving down the highway at 60 mph on a 65 mph posted zone in n. J. Motorcycle completely turned off due to faulty fuel gauge reading almost causing car behind me to crash into me. After researching on the internet it comes to light that harley davidson has had an issue with these fuel cell gauges all along and refuses to repair or replace them after the warranty has expired even though they knew about the problem. Beware of your fuel levels by visually confirming level in gas tank and not by the level indicated on lcd fuel display. It fluctuates up and down never giving the correct fuel level info. Scary situation that needs to be addressed asap by harley. Recall is in order before someone gets killed or injured. |
